Per Press Association. Dunedin, October 14. The band Contest began this morning, The 14th Regimental Band, Milton, is not participating. Three doubtful starters are Derry’s private baud, Christchurch; Timaru Garrison, and Invercargill Garrison. The 10th Regimental, comes from Oamaru to-morrow. All the others —ls—are present Results:— E Plat Bass Solo. —A. Nelson, St. Kilda, 98 points, 1; W. P, Goughian, Kaikorai, 97, 2; C. Parr, Oamaru, 96, 8. Nine others competed. B Flat Bass Solo. —V. Williams, St. Kilda, 95 points, 1; C. Gallop, Woolston, 94, 2 ; A. Gilmore, Stanmore, 76, 8. The only competitors.
