AMUSEMENTS.

MR SCOTT LESLIE. . - Mr Scott Leslie, the eminent" entertainer,, who appears in the Marton Town Hall on Thursday evening nest, has no doubts .on the question of the precocity of youth. Mr Scott Leslie says:—“l have received some pretty hard knocks from my youthful nephews and. nieces in England. f On one occasion, after I had completed a lengthy tour of Great Britain, America, Europe and India, I returned home and was duly received by my youthful relatives as “a great celebrity.” I was boisterously requested to sing something. After I had sung three songs without any accompaniment to the most critical audience I ever had, they chorused doubtfully “Yes, and is that uncle’s very best singing?” Since that time, says Mr Leslie, I always take care to sing to a pianoforte accompaniment. ” The programme to be presented at next Thursday’s entertainment will include Mr Scott Leslie’s most popular character impersonations and a number of excellent monologues and: elocutionary items. Mr Olivet Farrow, a fine baritone singer, well known in the Dominion, Miss L. Knight, a favourite soprano, and Miss Daisy Evans, pianist, will appear in support of Mr Scott Leslie. The box plan is now open at Mogridge’s.
