Bachelors' Ball. - The bachelors' ball, bold in the ball 1 on Friday eveuiuj; last, was a great success. Notwit lstandiug' .the inclemency of the weather about 40 ;■. couples were presant. The hall was tastefully doooratjed with Hags and* Chinese lauterus,! aud the secretary (Mr J. Knott), assisted by a strong*;-* committee, is tJ be congratulated upon the success ttf the function. The . music supplied byjMr Lanigan (piano) and Mr Slator iviolin) was perfect, while the catering;was in the capable hands of Mr Eugi. Messrs D. Mackorde and J. Kujott curried out the duties of M.'sC. it an eiheient manner. ;
During the evening Miss McNab (Auckland) sang three songs, and Miss McPhorsori 'Auckland) danced a sailor's hornpipe, j Those items wore much appreciated.
