PUTARURU HUNT CLUB
THIRD MEET The third meet of the season was held at Lichfield. Weather conditions no doubt prevented a number o-f followers from attending, but those who braved the elements were rewarded by a good afternoon's sport under favourable conditions. Leaving the 'Lichfield Hall after luncheon, the huntsman and hounds proceeded along the Te Whetu Road until they entered Mr. J. D. Cox’s property. Some 2i2 riders followed. Several hares -were hunted here and on Mr. Ward’s property, hut only short runs occurred, until one long run through Mr. Cox’s property into the “Crossing” resulted in a kill. Afternoon tea at the hall brought an enjoyable outing to a close. In the unavoidable absence of the Master, Mr. Ned Brown, huntsman, expressed thanks and appreciation for hospitality received. Cornelius on Kin-g; It. S. Cox on Tui. Misses G. Whale on Valconia; K. O’Sullivan on Hinau; B. V.an Veen on Moonlight; B. Baldwin on Hassin and Rio Grande; M. Sissons on Jason Lad. Mesdames J. D. A.
