WOMEN’S INSTITUTE:
PUTARURU MEETING The monthly meeting of the Putaruru Women’s Institute was held on Friday, the president. Mrs. Stewart, presiding over a good attends ance of members. Five new members were welcomed, apd apologies were received from several members who could not be present. After the usual business had been discussed, the dramatic circle entertained with a play which was greatly appreciated by all. A small competition was then conducted by Mrs. Hall and was won by Mris. Appelgren and Mias M. Brown. The monthly competition was won by Mrs. Hall. Winners of other competitions were: Best bloom, Mrs Uden; cooking, Mrs Stewart; sewing, Mrs iF'rew. The meeting closed with the serving of afternoon tea by the hostesses, Mesdames J. C. Tomalin and Uden. ■Next month’s hostesses are Mesdames A. Sehischka and S. Smith.
