R.S.A. AFFAIRS
EXECUTIVE MEETING Those present at the meeting of the executive of the Putaruru branch of the Returned Services’ Association, held on Monday night, were Messrs. P. D. Morrison, H. L. Martin, N. Hunt, B. J. Howland, W. Marskiall-Inman, R. Pratt, C. Thompson, G. Rose, W. McCaw, F. Flavell, F. Peters, L. Addenforooke, and Puck. Apologies were received from Messrs. J. R. O. Lochhead, Domett and P. Thompson.
Election of Officers Tills being the first meeting of the executive since the annual meeting the election of president and vice presidents was held. Mr. P. D. Morrison was re-elected president, and Messrs. H. L. Martin and W. Marshall-Inman vice-presi-dents. Town Board Donation In reply to a letter from the branch asking for a reduction in the rental of the Town Hall for its reunion, the Town Board replied that it was unable to make any concession in the rental for the hall, but would donate £1 lsi to the R.S.A. memorial club funds. A letter cf thanks is 1 to be sent to the board.
Collections The secretary reported that £IOB 18s 4d had been received from the peppy sales and £l4 5s from the Anzac Day collection. The Salvation Army, Bodderville, sent £2 lOs, £1 10s of which was raised from the sale of poppies, the other £1 being a donation from the Salivation Army. A letter of thanks is to be sent the donor.
New Members Two new members were elected and ’a number of transfers in and out were approved. To Vote for Branch The president was appointed to appear on the electoral roll for the borough council election as the voting authority for the Putaruru R.S.A., it being a ratepayer in the town district. Donation to Band The usual, donation of £2 2s is to be paid to the Putaruru Municipal Band in appreciation of its services in the past year.
