RABBITS ON FENCES

BOARD’S AIRY OUTLOOK “Hang Them in Circle” A letter from the Putaruru Chamber of Commerce pointing out that rabbit carcases hung on fences on the Te -Whetu road did not improve the surrounding atmosphere, and requesting that the board trappers should bury carcases, was received at the meeting- of the East Waikato Rabbit Board on Tuesday.. Members of the board declined to view the letter in anything but a light manner.

“ I do not know whether it is within the jurisdiction of the chamber to bring this up,” said Mr. J. J. Shine. “Dead rabbits are the only rabbits that interest us.” ,

It is not their business to write,” agreed the secretary, Mr. A. L. Mason.

The chairman (Mr. J. S. Allen): I wonder if they will give us permission to hang them in the Oxford Circle. v

Mr. Mason: Let us tell the chamber that the only reason we have put the carcases on the fences is because. tbe circle . has been removed.

Although gone, it appears that the circle as a butt still lives. The secretary will reply to the chamber with an airy rejoinder on those lines.. “ Fresh airy,” added Mr. W. D. L. MacDonald.
