OXFORD PUCE POWER POLE
SAID TO BE A DANGER Power Board’s Opinion Oxford Place’s vanished circle and its power pole came in for comment at the meeting of the Thames Valley Power Board on Tuesday. “ The Town Board has removed the garden plot from round the centre pole in Oxford Place,” stated the engineer, “This leaves the pole in an exposed and dangerous condition.”
The chairman (Mr. J. Price suggested writing jo: the Town Board and stating tfeat the removal of the plot round (lie pole had made the p<fle dangerous, and that thS board would be responsible for any damage, I ,' The Town Board was responsible under the Act.
The,, manager assured members that the,, Town Board was responsible for damages resulting from a vehicle colliding with this pole. Thfs point had been settled by the judgment in the case of Waitemata County Council v. Waitemata Power Board. “ The Town Board is leaving the pole dangerous,” he added. “It was not dangerous when we erected it.”
The board decided to write to the Town Board on these lines.
