It is stated that the value of the bequests of which the Nelson Diocese will have the benefit in the immediate future, under the will of the late Miss Francis C. Marsden, will amount to £50,000.

The disastrous fi're in the Eaetihi district has not been an unmixed evil, the burn of the bush being so complete that in some instances fully £8 per acre would be placed on the value of the land. This fact is vouched for by a settler of 30 years residence in the district.
