THE WAR LOAN.

It is tho duty of everyone to contribute to tho success of the War Loan, and small amounts are important as well as the larger subscriptions. As the Minister of Finance and others have pointed out, the War has now reached tho great crisis, and only by absolute unity can freedom be maintained. There is no question as to tho necessity of securing and maintaining that freedom. The enemy are now making, what is perhaps their greatest effort of the war, and money is a prime necessity in providing a superior force that will overcome the aggressive and brutal force that is still threatening the freedom of the world. As far as Now Zealand is concerned a further nine and a half millions is now required to cover our share of war expenditure. The success of the Allied cause is the common interest of everyone, and oven in this favoured corner of the British Empire our responsibility is just as great as that which faces tho Mother Country and tho Allied nations nearer the heart of the great struggle. No person or class should neglect their financial responsibility, be it over so small or ever so great.
