MOTORISTS IN COLLISION.
TWO MEN INJURED.
An accident of an unusual nature occurred on the main road between Rai Valley and Oanvastown at about 5.30 or 6 p.m. on Saturday. How the mishap occurred is not quite clear, but it appears that Mr Len. Smith, of Messrs Price and Co., Havelock, who was riding towards Havelock on a motor cycle, collided with a man named Billingsly, also on a motor cycle. The meeting mast have been very sudden as neither remembers having seen the other. Both were rendered unconscious and lay on the road for a considerable tima before assistance chanced along. Mr Smith was the first to recover consciousness, and with assistance, although badly braised ami cut about the face, was able to ride his own machine home a few hours later. Billingsly was also badly hurt, and still unconscious was taken back to Maungatapu, where he came to himself about midnight. Both men were evidently travelling at a fair speed at the time of the impact, and were lucky to get off with light injuries to themselves and slight damage to the machines.
