ADDINGTON MARKET

At Addington market there was a big attendance of buyers and others. The yarding of sto:k was a large one, all classes being well represented. The fat cattle section was large, but the quality was very irregular, steer beef being in short supply. The entry of lambs was about the same as at the previous week’s market, but fat sheep were in larger There was a big entry of store sheep and store cattle, tbe latter including a good line of 120 young beasts from tbe West Coast.

Store Sheep—Mixed sex lambs 15s Id to 24s 2d, ewe lambs 225, wether lambs 17s 10d to 18s lid, 2-tooth ewes 30s3d to 36a sd, 2 and 4-tootb ewes- 25s 9d to 365, 4-tooth ewes 20a Id to 35s id, 4,6, and 8tooth ewes 27a 3d to 365, sound-mouthed ewes 18s 9d to 29s 4d, 2-tooth wethers 23a to 24s Bd, 4 and 6-tooth wethers 245, 2, 4, 6 and 8-tobth wethers 21a 31 to 235. Fat Lambs—Extra prime to 30s, prime 27s to 31s, medium 23s to 26a, lighter 20s to 22s 6d.

Fat Sheep—Extra prime wethers to 43s 6d, prime 32a to 39a 6d, lighter 23s to 30a, prime ewes 32a to 37a 6d, medium 26s to 30a, lighter 14a to 25a 6d. Fat Cattle—Extra prime steers £2l 10s, prime steers £l4 15a to £l9, ordinary steers £llloa to £l4 10a, extra prime cows £lB ss, prime cows £ll 10s to £l4 10s, ordinary cowa £9 5a to £lO 10a, extra prime heifers to £ls sa, prime heifers £lO 6s ito £l4, ordinary heifers £9 12s 6d to £lO 2s 6d.

, Store Cattle—Yearlings £3 18a, 13 to 18-month sorts £4 10s, 2-year-old steers £6 7s 8d to £6 13s, 2-year heifers £5 7a 6d to £6, 3-years steers £9 10a to £l2 7s, 3-year heifers £8 to £9 2s 6d, dry cows £4 to £9 10a.

Pigs—Choppers to £8 17a, heavy baconers £6 4s, medium baconers £6 10s, light £4 12s; equal to 7%d to 8d per lb. Heavy porkers 645, to 725, lighter 55a to 60s; equal to 9d to lUd per lb. Best stores 57s to 625, medium 47s 6d to 555, small 26s to 80s, weaners 18a to 21s.
