(own correspondent.) Wanganui, Monday. The Governor visited Wanganui on Saturday, and was welcomed by 6,000 people. His Excellency visited the breakwater in the afternoon, after being entertained at luncheon bv the Borough Councillors. Auckland, Monday. At the Supreme Court on- Saturday William Henry Wakeham, charged with attempted murder of his wife, but found guilty of common assault only, was sentenced to two years' penal servitude.
