SPORTING.
HAWBESBURY RACING CLUB’S SPRING MEETING. (own correspondent.) Melbourne, September 10. The above meeting commenced today. The attendance was good, and the racing was really good. The following are the results of the principal events :— Hawkesbury Guineas. Chester 1 Eagle Grange 2 Angora 3 —A splendid race. County Purse. Prodigal ... ... ... + Coolabah ... ... ... J Wanda ... ... ... 3 —This was a grand race. The dead heat was not run off, Coolabah being withdrawn. Prodigal therefore walked over for the stakes. MELBOURNE CUP SCRATCHING. Kings Own was scratched yesterday for the Melbourne Cup.
