The Government Situation.
(OWN correspondent.) Wellington, Friday. There now seems to be no doubt that Captain Russell’s resolution will be carried. Indeed it is not at all improbable that Ministers will agree to it without a division, as the Canterbury members are sure to vote for it, so that other places shall not have the public works expenditure, as the East and West Coast railway is not to be constructed.
