POSTMAN DROWNED TRUCK CAUGHT IN GULLY DAM AG E TO FUG II WAYS TOWNS INUNDATED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Rccd. March 20, 2.20 p.m.) SYDNEY. March 19. Roads were badly damaged and bridges were washed away by serious flooding of the soulh-western districts of Mew South Waies during the weekend. Many 'towns were invaded by flood waters and washaways closed all railway lines in the south-west with the exception of the main line between Sydney and Melbourne. Leo Doyle, aged 36 years, a postman, was swept away and drowned near Gundagai when a truck in which he was travelling stalled in a gully.
