CARTERTON SCOOPS POOL CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS TWO SHIELDS WON PETONE RUNNER-UP (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. Showery weather prevailed on Saturday for the final events at the annual demonstrations of the United Fire Brigades' Association of New Zealand. As a result of the week's competitions Carterton proved the most successful brigade, taking the largest share of the prize money, in addition to winning the championship and also the High Pressure and Manual Shields. Petone was the next most successful brigade and was runner-up for all three shields.
