GRETNA MARRIAGES
LONDON, Jan. 20. “The picturesque marriage ceremony at Gretna is valid and joins together people who go through it as man and wife. It must not be assumed that these ceremonies are to be treated in the lighthearted kind of way ■in which you and that young woman treated this particular ceremony,” said Mr. Justice Croom-John-son at Carlisle Assizes yesterday, sentencing a bigamist.
