GERMANY - ITALY - JAPAN FALL IN USE OF WOOL (Independent Unblit Service.) (Rccd. Dec. 30, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 29. The Daily Express says that the world production of staple fibre in 1938 set a new record with an estimated total of 858,000,0001 b, compared with 622,000,0001 bin 1937, and 20,000,0001 b in 1932. The increase in production was most marked in Germany, Italy and Japan, where the reduction of wool consumption by some 700,000 bales between 1933 and 1937 has been almost entirely due to the development of staple fibre.
