QUESTION OF CONTROL (Elec. Tel, Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 2, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 1. Messages from Berlin state that Mr. Neville Chamberlain’s speech in the House of Commons to-day caused the greatest satisfaction in German political circles.

A commentator welcomed especialy the confidence expressed in Herr Hitler’s good faith and the acknowledgment of Germany’s position in Centra! Europe. He stressed that Germany did not wish to hinder the trade of other nations in these markets, but had always opposed England’s political loans.

He explained with regard to rearmament that Germany’s interest lay in who should direct the powerfully rearmed nation, a Chamberlain or a Churchill.
