At the official opening of the swimming season at the Macrae Bath on Saturday, November 12, members ot the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club and Wainui Surf Life Saving Club will take part in a short programme of races during the afternoon. Three handicap sprints will be held by the Gisborne club, one ot 50yds for men and intermediate boys, one of 50yds for women, and the third of 33 l-3yds for junior boys. There will be a diving event that will be open to the members of both clubs. The Wainui club’s events will consist of 50yds and 33 l-3yds distances, and the entries for all will close on the Thursday before the fixture with Messrs, C. E. Brown and H. Le J3as.
