A definite decision to abandon the point-to-point meeting for the current season was reached by the committee of the Poverty Bay Hunt Club yesterday. Weather 'conditions which enforced a postponement of the first day of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s meeting from Thursday to Friday of last week also interfered with plans for the point-to-point, which in the ordinary course would have been held last Friday. Now the club has decided that attention should be concentrated on the annual 'lotalisator meeting, which Is set down for Saturday next at the Makaraka course, ancl high hopes are entertained regarding a de- 1 finite improvement in the weather- for this fixture.
