OBITUARY
MR. A. J. FYSON'S FUNERAL
Mr. Albert Joseph Fyson, whose death was announced in yesterday's issue of the Herald, had a distinguished career in the Masonic Lodge. He became a member of Turanganui Lodge in 1881, and 14 years later he joined Lodge Abercorn No. 70 shortly afterwards he was appointed worshipful master of Lodge Abercorn and subsequently was appointed an officer of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. In later years Mr. Fyson had the distinction of being elected an honorary member of the four Masonic lodges in Gisborne.
Following the Church of England service at the graveside this afternoon Canon A. F. Hall read a portion of the Masonic service. The pall bearers were the four present worshipful masters of the local Masonic lodges and two of the deceased's oldest friends.
The deaths of Messrs. A. W. Glennie and S. Wootton were mentioned last evening at the annual meeting of the Kahutia Bowling Club and, on the motion of the president, Mr. B. L. Power, motions of condolence with their relatives were passed.
