RETURN OF CONFIDENCE
BUSINESS ON EXCHANGE FUELING IN LONDON TREND ON WALL STREET (El«c. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. June 27, noon.) LONDON, June 20. The improved sentiment noted last week appears to be consolidating into
a really substantial recovery; indeed, the rapidity of Wall Street’s advance left many City business men somewhat out of breath.
Operators in London are inclined to show great caution and find dillieulty in accepting the view that the United States is on the verge of an industrial recovery, justifying a rapid advance to the level of common stocks. There are good reasons, however, for better prices than those recently ruling.
The technical position of both the share and commodity markets in Europe and America is sound. Open positions have been contracted to sub-normal dimensions, hence prices rapidly responded to the combined pull of the revival and the hopes of a United States’ recovery in the autumn.
Confidence is more general than at any time in the past six months.
