KAHUTIA TOURNEY WEEK-END PLAY The Kahutia Bowling Club’s second winter tournament was advanced a further stage on Saturday with the completion of the second round. The leading rinks in the competition are (hose skipped by Williams and Watt, each having secured two wins to date. Saturday s games resulted J. Graham, McGregor, Graham, Williams (s) 27, v. Dower, Vail, McCulloch, Rothwell (s) 16. Ellis, Pearson, J. Robertson, Bennett (s) 23 v. W. Wilson, Paltridge, Morris. Jenkins (s) 14. Robinson, Gallop, Atkinson, Walker (s) 20 v. F. E. Wilson, Jackson, Downev, Robertson (s) IG. Hands, Corlet, Fischbach, Watt (s) 28 v. York, Lenihan, McKessar. McKenzie (s) 17.
Summary of Play
The summary of play at the conclusion of the second round was as follows: —Williams and Watt, two wins; Rothwell, McKenzie, Bennett and Walker, one win; Jenkins and Robertson, no wins. In an ordinary game played during the afternoon Spence, Neenan. Roberts and Holland (s) defeated Briant, Poole, Smith and Taylor (s), 26 to 17. POVERTY BAY CLUB Owing to its own greens being closed for attention, the Poverty Bay Bowling Club played a semi-final match of its winter tournament on the Kahutia green on Saturday. The game resulted: — File, Bury, Cameron, Moore (s) 18 v. McFadycn, Duncan, Fredericks, Hartley (s) 14. In the other semi-final game, which was played previously, Grant, Wood, A. R. Smith and Bennett (s) were the winners and they will meet Moore’s team in the final on July 9.
