TREMENDOUS LANDSLIDES
IT.r.. VIEWED FROM AIR - Mr. R. D. Brown, secretary of the Hawke's Bay and East Coast Aero Club, who took an active part in the distribution of supplies by air to those isolated in the flooded area, said he was astounded at the way the moderate undulating country in the Eskdale area had slipped away, and of the tremendous landslides that had occurred in the Rissington district
A complete change had taken place in the countryside, he said. Miles of fencing had been disfigured by thousands of slips. These would seriously reduce the areas which were available for the grazing of stock.
