DROWNED IN DRAIN
CHI ED'S SAD KATE (Per Press Association.) WHANGAREI, this day. A 2A-ycar-old girl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Vuletich, Ruakaka. was drowned yesterday in a drain on the side 'of the Whangarei-Waipu road. The child was playing about the store owned by her parents when she disappeared. The father made a search, finding the child lying face downwards in the drain in which there was storm-water of a depth of two feet. Artificial respiration failed. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner at the inquest.
