CHARMING WEDDING

MALING—ORMOND BRIDE IX WHITE SATIN Many friends throughout New Zealand were interested in the wedding of Miss Audrey Phyllis Wilder Ormond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ormond, Wallingford, Hawke's Bay. and Dr. Thomas Christopher Maling, son of Mr. and Mrs. ,J. Malmg, of Christchurch. The ceremony was held at St. Mary's Church, Waipukurau, last Saturday afternoon. A gown of chalk white satin with beautiful pearl embroideries wa.s worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. The gown was fashioned With a long train, the skirt being slightly shirred in the front. The corsage had a high cowl neckline with tiny satin-covered buttons down the back, and matching buttons finished the long sleeves from the elbow to the wrist. At the waist was a belt cut to an oval shape in front and beautifully embroidered with pearls. The lovely heirloom lace veil was arranged with a coronet of pearls and fell to form a second train. Her shower bouquet was of pale pink begonias and midendhair tern. Eight Attendants The bridesmaids, who attended the bride were the Misses Jacqueline and Deeima Ormond, her sisters, Miss Joan Maling. sister of the bridegroom. Miss Prudence Wilder and Miss Patricia Williams, her cousins There were also three little flower girls. Frances Hope, Jennifer Ormond and Dareat Sherrath.

The bridesmaids' gowns were of delphinium blue panne velvet finished with lovely rhinestone trimming. The short sleeves were cut full at the shoulders and the skirls had inset panels in the back daring to form the trains. Halos of silver leaves were worn with shoulder-length blue veils and they carried shower bouquets of pink begonias and carnations.

The little (lower girls wore long frocks of the same blue velvet, cut in Empire style with fitting bodices. puffed sleeves and long full skirls. They carried pink flowers.

The best man was Mr. Solomon, Christchurch, and the groomsmen were Messrs. P. H. T. Williams and W. Westenra, both from Christchurch, John Ormond and David Ritchie. Hawke's Bay.

After the ceremony the guests motored to Wallingford, where they were received by Mr, and Mrs. J. D. Ormond, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Maling. Later, when the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon, the bride travelled in an ensemble of fine angoralaine with a vivid blue frock and flecked three-quarter coat. Her hat was of the same shade as her coat.

Among the relatives present al the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Sherratt.
