WAIROA WEDDING
FRASERTOWN BRIDE NISSEN—CiARNHAM (Herald Corruspoiulont.) A pretty evening wedding was celebrated recently in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Wairoa, when Gertrude Blanche,, eldest daughjer .of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Garnham, Frasertown, was married to Gordon Arthur, third son of Mrs. H. C. Nissen and the late Mr. P. C. Nissen. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a gown of ivory satin with inlets of lace and orange blossom. She wore an embroidered tulle veil and the usual wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of shadings from cream blending into pink of cactus dahlias, lilies and roses veiled witli maidenhair and asparagus fern. The bride was attended by Miss Doreen Baker, niece of the bridegroom, and Miss Matilda Garnham, her sister. The former acted as chief bridesmaid. Both were dressed alike in pink satin with a net overdress. They carried shower bouquets of pale pink shading to rose of cactus dahlias and roses with maidenhair fern and pale pink streamers Mr. John Garnnam, brother of the bride, was the best man. while Mr. Ray Ireland acted as groomsman. As the bridal party left the church, the bride was presented with a satincovered horseshoe by Miss Nola Williams.
A dance and reception followed in the Kowhai Hall, Frasertown, when the bride cut a beautifully iced threetiered cake, the gift of a friend. All the bouquets were made and given by Mrs. A. 11. 11. Unwin, Frasertown. The bride's mother wore a brown ensemble with hat and shoes to lone and carried a bouquet of autumn toned zinnias and dahlias with autumn leaves.
Owing to an unfortunate accident on the wedding day, file bridegroom's mother was in hospital, so all the bouquets were sent to her. At the conclusion of the reception the bride left by car for the north, travelling in a navy costume, with hat and shoes to tone. They will make their future home at the mill at Tuai.
