The Wellington wool sales on April 22 gave a gross return to the growers of £227,905, compared with £705,302 at the corresponding sale last year. The statistics arc as follow, last year’s figures being in parentheses: Dales offered, 18,205 (229,784); sold, 10,150 (29,037); passed in, 2109 (147); average per bale, £l4 2s 2d (£25 10s sd); average per Jb., 9.50 d (17.584 d).
