Ruatoria
Numerous cars were commissioned to convey the members of the Ruatoria Women's Institute to "Ngamoe," the charming home of Mrs. H. E. Williams, whp was the hostess last rnonUi, assisted by Mesdames DaXgairns, Kemp and Snelling. Before the meeting and during the afternoon tea interval members availed themselves of the opportunity to wander about the terraced lawns and admire the beautiful array of spring flowers.
An appeal for help from the leper station was read by the president, Mrs. R. Wicksteed, and it was decided to forward gifts in October.
The dramatic circle was congratulated on its success at the recent Drama Festival, the trophy being displayed. A motion was passed in favour of the -annual subscription being raised, subject to the approval of tne; committee of the federation.
Mrs. Russell gave an able demonstration of the making of paper roses, which, mounted on real foliage, looked extremely realistic.
