For the .six months ended June JO, 18 cases of infectious disease were notified in the Gisborne borough. as compared witli 16 eases for the same period last year. There were, however, 14 cases of infantile paralysis this year, leaving' only four cases of the usual type of notifiable disease, and two of these were old tubercular cases re-notified. Apart from the infantile paralysis outbreak, the health of the community, as far as infectious diseases were concerned, had been excellent. A report to this effect was tabled by the town clerk, Mr. W. M. Jenkins, to the Borough Council meetmg last night.
