LONGBUSH RESERVE
NO MONEY FROM BOROUGH COUNTY * COUNCIL MATTER A suggestion was made at last night’s meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council that a proposal to assist the Lands Department with the fencing of the Longbush reserve was a matter for the Cook County Council. Accordingly, a letter from the Commissioner of Crown Lands on the subject was referred to the County Council. The letter was a reply to the council’s previous decision not to accept control of the land or assist with the fencing, and asked if the council would be prepared to help in the purchase price of the 15 acres, which was at £5 an acre, the department to bear the cost of survey and fencing.
It was decided to forward the letter to the county council.
