DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
TAURANGA NATIVE LAND . WORK ’FOR 100 MAORIS The supervisor in charge of the development scheme for native land in the Tauranga district, Mr. J. Dicken, has arrived at Tauranga and has commenced his new duties. The scheme embraces fencing and draining, also clearance of noxious weeds, over an area of about 2GOO acres of land .in the Mangatawa, Wharerou, Mat’apihi, *Ngapeke, Te Maunga and Papamoa blocks, which are regarded as some of the best land in the Tauranga county. A good dofil of the plant which lias been used in the Kaitimako native scheme will be utilised in the new development work. Fencing material already has arrived and gangs are engaged in clearing, It is anticipated that about 100 natives will be employed on the general scheme.
