PITTSBURG, March 6.

What is considered another victory ior Mr. Lewis is that the largest unit of the Aluminium Workers’ Union has announced its secession from the American Federation of Labour and its affiliation with the Committee of Industrial Organisation, which will conduct a campaign to organise all workers in the aluminium industry on an industrial basis.

A message from Akron states that the united rubber workers of America have served demands upon the Firestone lyre and Rubber Company to recognise the untfm as the sole- collective bargaining agency. The company has announced that, in view of the uncertainty of present conditions, it will shut all its plant until further notice, rendering 10.000 employees idle.

The employees of the Westinghouse Electric Company, Pittsburg, have demanded a 20 per cent increase in pay or threatened to strike.
