The Paris correspondent- of the News-Chronicle says that responsible circles in Paris are alarmed at information from various sources suggesting that Germany intends making Czechoslovakia a second Spain, and is plotting to engineer a revolt. She may be smuggling guns to German and Hungarian minorities. Following the Spanish precedent, Germany and Hungary would not intervene* officially, but would support a revolt with war materials and volunteers, while pretending not to intervene Germany thus hopes to reshape Czechoslovakia without open "invasion, which would mean a European war. She seeks.to buy off Poland, offering her the Teschen district. '1 ATTITUDE OF FRANCE The President of Czechoslovakia, Dr. E. Benes, had a long conference with the chief of the French military mission. It is stated in Paris that Germany has seriously miscalculated if she expects France to accept another experience of non-intervention. Lord Rothermere, in an article- in the Daily Mail, bitterly attack's Czechoslovakia as “a spurious State —a central European sham, and a perpetual danger to peace, which tliepeace conference was bluffed into creating. That bluff is now called.” Lord Rothermere adds that the immense development of Germany now threatens the Czechs with retribution. War clouds hang heavy over the frontiers.
