Beef cattle sold steadily up to 36s per 1001 b. for the seventh successive week at Westficld to-day. The yarding was slightly heavier, although the quality was only fair, there being many lines of plain entile. Extra choice ox sold at. 30s per 1001 b.; choice, and prime, 30s to 355; secondary and plain, 26s to 31s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 2!>s to 355; ordinary, 22s to 28s. CHRISTCHURCH, last, night. i There wns a firm market for (ill classes of sheep at to-day's Addinglon market, but a drop in fat cattle values. Store sheep.—There was a muesli smaller entry. Willi a. larger attendance of buyers, wether hoggets more than recovered last, week's drop of Is 6d, whilst ewes and lambs showed a further slight firming. The best of these sold to 22s 6d. Wether hogget* made to 26s 9d, and ewe hoggets to 35s 9d. Spring lambs.—The entry of 150 sold spiritedly at 2s increase in value, recovering last week's drop. Fat- sheep.—About 4000 were penned. and with a smaller entry a. much improved sale was witnessed, wethers being better by 2s and ewes by 2s 6d. Best wethers made 36s to 40s; medium 31s to 555: best ewes 30s to 37s ; medium 25s to 295.

HASTINGS SALE EAT CATTLE VALUES FIRM Values for fat cattle remained firm at the Hastings stock sale yesterday, with prime quality in particularly keen demand. The yarding totalled 200 head, a smaller number than usual. Prime bullocks sold to £l3 l3s, other prime beasts from £l2 5s to £l3 lis, with good sorts ranging from £lO 10s to £ll 16s. Extra prime heavy cows sold from £8 i?.s to £9 12s, others from £4 6s to £7 4s, while heifers brought up to £9 12*.
