At Hie wool sales 12,0.18 bales were offered and 11.380 sold, and also 218-1 bales wore disposed of privately. The market ruled in favour of sellers for all descriptions. There- was strong competition .from Yorkshire and the Continent. Greasy merino made to 21 id.

SOUTH BRITISH INSURANCE

FINAL DIVIDEND UNCHANGED

The South British Insurance Company, Limited, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that (he directors have recommended for the approval of shareholders a final dividend for the year ended August 31 of Is 4d per share, payable on October 22. The dividend, which is at the usual rate, makes a total distribution tor the year of 2s 8d a share, equal to 13 1-3 per cent.
