WELLINGTON RECEPTION COM MERCK DELEGATES Tho Wellington Town Hall underwent complete transformation on Monday evening, when the .Mayor and councillors uive a reception ill honour of the delegates to the Empire Chambers ol ( ommeree Congress. There was a decidedly patriotic touch about the decorations, as befitted the occasion, and Union Jacks, New Zealand flags and those of the various Dominions and colonies were prominent,. During the evening vocal and elocutionary items were contributed. The guests were received by the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop" and were also introduced to the various councillors and ihoir wives. 'Plie delegates present included Viscount Eli batik, president of the Federation of Associated Chambers of Commerce, and Lady Elibnnk. who were met on their arrival by Mr. Martin Luckie, a member of the Wellington City f ouneil, and Airs. Luckie. Lady Elibank, who was presented with a beautiful bouquet of red tulips and carnations, wore a striking trained gown of black .•atin and a silver circlet of plaited lame; Airs. Luckie was in black georgette with corsage of red roses. Also present were Sir Thomas Wilford, chairman of the Council of Federated Chambers of Commerce. Air. Norton
Francis, president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, aid Airs. Francis, who was wearing black Moral chiffon and net; Mr. C. J. li. Norwood, president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, with Mrs. Norwood, who was in midnight blue silver-threaded cloqne. 'Phe guests were briefly addressed by the Mayor of Wellington, Air. Ilislop. and hv Viscount F.libnnk and Kir Alfred At Lev.
