(Herald Correspondent A Last Saturday evening the Y..M.C..\. Hall, Bartlett's, was crowded with people, young and old, who amused themselves playing games, deck quoits seemingly being the most popular. The evening’s amusement, being so successfull, it is intended to hold similar ones, whenever the hall is not otherwise engaged. and arrange tournaments in all games. The proceeds IT out all entry fees are to go to the Christmas tree fund. Prizes for the various tournaments have been donated, (t is also proposed t.o make a collection from all camps on the works for donations to augment the Christmas tree fund. The combined hoys and girls’ clubs are to stage a concert shortly and the funds also are to go to the Christmas tree fund. The boys at their meeting on Monday night made a start preparing the programme. Sunday evening’s service was conducted by Adjutant Taylor, and Mrs. Taylor sang a solo. After the service Mr. T>. A. Morton showed some line pictures of Norwich Cathedral, describing each one as they appeared on the screen. Adjutant and Mrs. Taylor, travelling evangelists, look the .Sunday school class, which was well attended. Mr. J. ('laiKK'hiin, the, new secretary of the Y.M.C.A.. Bartlett’s, has commenced his duties. He has been connected with Y.M.G.A. work in an honorary capacity for the last 20 years in Auckland. Mr. A. Jell's, who has been ill charge of tin- Y.M.G.A. here, has I >oon transferred to the Kopnawluira Y.M.G.A.

A friendly match to open the Bartlett’s Cricket Club’s season is to lie played against Muriwai club in Aluriwa l ' next week-end. The response to the formation of the cricket club here, has met with overwhelming success and it is expected that it will be possible lo form two strong teams. The secretary of the club is anxious to obtain fixtures with outside teams, pending the completion of the homo ground. and when that is ready the Bartlett’s club will look forward to the visits of the local clubs.
