The annual meeting ol the Alotu lannis Club was held in the pavilion oil Saturday afternoon. The annual report, which was adopted, stated that sevcial improvements had been carried out dining the past year to- the courts and SlUroundings. The financial position was satisfactory, but funds would lie needed for the complete top-dressing of the lower court. The following officers were elected: Patron, Air. E. t l . Usher; president, Mr. C. Pert; secretary. Alias K. Hutchins; committee, Mesdames 11. S. Fisher and 11. F. Jackson, Aliases B. Fisher and U Aiolfatt- and Mr. 0. Richardson. Jt was decided to hold tho official opening on Saturday, October 24, when a yankeo tournament would he arranged. Mr. A. Gribbon was elected as a member.
There were 19 wet days during September in Alotu, with a total rainfall of 7.93 in. tifpl . The screening of the film Ihe Life of Christ” attracted a large audience at the Alotu Hall last night. Airs. E. Derecourt is visiting her mother, Airs. O. Hansen, Whakatane.
