MEMBERS' DAY MEETINCi '
Mrs. E. Bead was acting-president and Miss B. Fisher secretary at the members’ day meeting of the , MotuMotuhorn Women’s Institute last Thursday afternoon, and their eflnrts were warmly applauded. Mrs.' M. Nathan cleverly demonstrated the weaving ol a useful garden kit from native llax. and several members did some practical work. Mrs. (!. Hutchins was appointed as delegate to attend the half-yearly council meeting hi. Gisborne on October 23, and many members expressed' their intention of going to hear Mrs. Allred Watt. Arrangements were made tor a Christmas tree to be held m Deectiihei and members were- reminded ol the necessity for toys and gilts lor the ehildren. Some beautiful hull's were eidered for the senior eornpetition, Mrs. It. S. Fisher's collect ion being placed first, Mrs. A. 10. Legge’s xerond, and Mrs. W. a! Wright’s Third. There was only one entry in the junior competition, a vase of flowers. Miss Hetty fisher being the entrant. Mesdaiiies A. E. l.egge. M. Marshall, and 11. lYinherthy were the hostesses, and Mesd miles M. K. Wilson, and 11. Sweetman were welcomed as visitors. Mrs. W. Beets was elected a, member and welcomed by the president.
