DOMINION AIR SERVICES TRIBUTE BY AMERICAN NIGHT FLYING TO COME (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Mr. Harold Catty, the well-known American aviation expert, who arrived bv the Monterey yesterday and leaves for Wellington by the Limited express this evening, said lie was unable to make a statement concerning the preparations of the Pan-American Airways’ Company concerning the proposed Pacific service, *as he was not seeking publicity. A great, deal of work had yet to be done, lie said. “Australian aviation is expanding rapidly and is getting ready for night flying,” he continued. “Threequarters of the flying in America was done at night, and soon Australia would be doing the same. New Zealand’s problem is slightly different with the shorter distances, but night flying eventually will come here. The air lines in New Zealand are all well organisediand well run, having started on a solid foundation, which is more than can be said for Australia. “Australia is short of experienced pilots and mechanics to carry out the expanding programme. There lias been a big increase in the. traffic recently.”
