A letter was received from the Dunedin Fire Board at a meeting of the Wellington Fire Board, asking that support should be accorded representations to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, for exemption from the new regulations in regard to the price of petrol. It is understood that Government departments are exempt from the regulations, and it is hoped that, tire boards will receive similar consideration. The board decided to support the representations.

Coleman, members of the board, recommending the. establishment of a. new school at TTangaroa. I’he report stated that there were 10 or 11 pupils now certain, and that others were reaching an age whom school attendance would he normal, most, of the prospective pupils 1 icing within easy walking distance of the position most suitable for a school, this being the location of the. old ilanguroa Ila.ll. The nearest, school now available is at Wno-leng.i-o-kitri. 12 miles from Ilangaroa, and transport of pupils to that school was reported to he put of the question.
