ORMOND NEWS
W.T. CARD EVENING (Herald Correspondent.) A most enjoyable evening was spent on Saturday when the members of the card circle of the Ormond Women’s Institute. held the first of a, series of flag five-hundred parties. May was very keen, the winners being:—Ladies.—-Miss NNeenan and Mrs. L. Btiscke. Gentle-men.--Mr. L. Btiscke and'Mr. J. CookOther prizes were won by Mesdames llarvey Jones and O. Cameron, and Messrs. D. Neenan am.l D. Lovelock. A. delightful supper was served; by a committee of ladies. Those present included Mesdames Harvey Jones, convener, C. Cameron, L. Buscko, and I). Neenan; Misses T. Lovelock, M. Cook, N. Neenan, J. Harvey, and M. Lewis.
The spinsters of the Ormond district are making great preparations for their dance which they are holding this week in an effort to make up for the. loss thev suffered on their last dance.
Mrs. V. S'. Bolton, Ormond, is an inmate of a hospital in Wellington.
