NEW ZEALAND'S FINANCE
A FEELING OF ALARM LABOUR AND BRITAIN On his return from a visit to the Old Country, Mr. H. M. Campbell, of Poukawa, "expressed the opinion that there was a certain amount- of feeling of alarm in English financial circles concerning the New '' Zealand Labour Government s activities. .Air. Campbell said thai when the papers published the statement of Mr. Savage, in regard to the reduction of interest on overseas loans, there was a feeling that New Zealand's credit was not what it had been in the past, and this fact was reflected on the Stock Exchange, by the immediate drop in the price of certain New Zealand stocks. Mr. Campbell said that any suggestion of a reduction in interest would be extremely hard on many purchasers, especially a's in many cases, the purchases represented the' whole life savings of investors.
