BRIGHT PROSPECTS

CONDITIONS AT HOME MR. H. M. CAMPBELL BACK That the New Zealand wool and meat, prospects, arc very bright on the English market, is the. opinion of Mr. H. M. Campbell, who lias just returned to Poiikawa, after a lengthy visit to the Old Country.

Mr. Campbell states thai while he was in England, there were good clearances at all the sales which were held, with foreign countries being strong buyers, and there was every indication that (luring the coming year good prices would continue to rule for both meat- and wool. In regard to the meat- position, he said that prices were not yet at the peak. but thev were payable, and it was far better that thev should be- in this condition rather than to experience periods ol booms and crashes. Mr. Campbell added that New Zealand meat was very much in demand in most, places in England, and it was sold as "New Zealand meat" all over (he country as part of the "Empire products." "In shops which display the 'Empire products' sign, there is nothing specified except New Zealand, Canterbury or Salisbury lamb, and it makes one wonder how much Australian meat is disposed ot through the name and quality of New Zealand meat, as Australian meat is never mentioned in any of the butchers' shops," said Mr. Campbell.
