DECLINE IN REVENUE
EXPENDITURE RISING BRITISH • EXCHEQUER (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 15. The Exchequer returns show that thototal ordinary revenue amounts to £258.946,769, compared with £263,617,680 at the corresponding date ot lastvear. The greater activity in overseas trade is reflected in the total receipts from customs excise, \which amounted to £139,074.000, against £134,497.090 at this time last. year.
The total ordinary expenditure was £339.641,304. compared with £325.843, 269 at the corresponding date ol 1935.
