MEETING OF COMMITTEE

DRAW FOR SATURDAY

The weekly meeting of the committee, of I*he Poverty Bay football Association was held on Tuesday night m the office of Messrs. J. J. JMacdonald una Son, Lowe street. Mr. J. J. MacdomUd presided, others present being .Messrs. i. Smitii, J. Monau, S 3. Hinyard, W. Findlay, J. -McLean, J. McLachlin, P. McKay, F. Woods, and the hon. secretary, Mr. P. Quinri. On the motion of Mr. Macdonald, seconded by Mr. Findlay, it .was decided that in the representative hockey game to take place on the King's Birthday tin* entire alternooii's gate takings should bo given to the. Poverty Bay Hockey Association. The chairman notified the meeting that he had received an offer of a cup and badges to be presented to the successful leain in the primary schools' competition for 1937. The donor wished to remain anonymous in the meantime. Tins offer was gratefully accepted and the chairman was instructed to thank the donor on their behalf for his fine gesture. The final arrangements for the boys social evening to be held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Derby street, on Friday at /.30 p.m.. were left in the hands of the chairman, secretary, and Mr. P. Bailey. In connection with the series of games to be played on the King's Birthday, if was decided thai the school games will commence at 9 a.m., and the seniors tit 10 a.m. Mr. Mohan will referee the final match in the afternoon. The finals ,in both sections will commence at 2 p.m. The chairman was asked to confer with the hockey association on the matter of gate-keepers. The executive is to select two teams to give an exhibition of the game on the Oval on the King's Birthday. The matter of nails in hoots was left to'Mr. Mohan.

The results for Saturday, June 13, were, reported as follow:—Seniors. — Thistle 3 beat Mercantile 2 : United 5 beat Celtic 4. Schools.—Kaiti 3 drew with Celtic 3: Mangnpapn, 2 beat Te Ilapara 1. The draw for Saturday, dune 20, was made as follows :—Schools.—-Celtic v. Te Ilapara, coaches. Messrs. I. Smith and J. McLachlin; Mangapapa v. Kaiti, coaches. Messrs. J. Easton and J. McLean. The games will commence at 1 p.m. Seniors.—Celtic v. Mercantile, on No. 1 ground, referee, Mr. Livingston : Thistle v. United, on No. 2 ground, referee, Mr. G. Hall; reserve, Mr. .). Mohan. The games will start at 2.45 p.m. The draw for the Kintr's Birthday Is as follows :—Kyne Cup.—United v. THstlc. on No. 2 mound, referee. Mr. J. Livingston; Celtic v.
