NATIONAL DANCING
TE KARAKA SPORTS WINTER SHOW INNOVATION A meeting of (lie Poverty Bay centre of the Piping and Dancing Association was held on Wednesday evening, when Mr. Peter Sim presided over the following members: Messrs. James Johnstone, ll* McKnight, B. Fletcher, W. Livingstone, G. Mclutyre, and the lion, secretary, Mr. W. W. Jonasen. Final arrangements were made for the dancing section at the Te Karaka sports to be held on Easter Monday, when an outside judge would adjudicate the five solo dances under 12 and the live solo dances 12 to 18 years, with an Irish reel under 12 and a reel o' Tulloch m the senior section, The secretary was empowered to negotiate for a musician to ho in attendance in addition to the pipers. It was agreed thai Mr. .lames Johnstone should receive the entries, which close on April 8. Matters in connection with the Winter Show were held in abeyance, pending the completion of plans being formulated for the welfare of the competitors and to ensure unison in the schedule to bo adopted. Tap dancing and skipping events were contemplated, in addition to national dancing.
